Well I thought it was about time to publicise myself a little as otherwise I won't be able to help others if my site can't be found! For anything worthwhile on Google you have to be on the front page of the search results otherwise you are going to get the 'truly desperate' only finding you. I don't really want to be found for website design Halifax as I don't really (truth be told) like building websites - I am not really a graphical person. I don't get excited about shades of colour. My opinion is - if it's okay, don't worry about the colours too much, just get it found. People agonise for hour after hour about the right shades of colours - for what??? Someone to say - "Nah - don't like that - howabout green instead!"
Totally maddening.
I really want to be found for terms like website promotion Halifax, Seo Hailfax, Internet Marketing Halifax as that's what interests me. Anyone visiting my site won't be blown away by the wonderful graphic look (see above) but they'll be able to find me which is the all important thing!

Tooth-hirty?

Yes - the old ones are the best when it comes to dentist jokes but it isn't a joke if you are a dentist in NE Calgary and no one is coming to see you as no one can find your website in order to book an appointment!
It doesn't help that Calgary is such a huge city and everything is so spread out. How are people going to find you if they are looking for an emergency dentist or cosmetic tooth whitening if they can't find you for those things in a Google search???
All you can do is your best to get yourself found easily on Google and hopefully, if people are looking for you they should find you easily enough. If they can find you - they will come!

Emigration anyone?

We did it, countless others have done it so why can't everyone do it??
It is tough to move around the globe now or rather - it is so easy to travel around the globe now with modern communications making travel & transport relatively easy & safe but it is a different matter when you want to stop your travels and set down roots.
We moved to Nova Scotia from the UK in 2006. We love the place to bits as it is everything that England was a few decades ago. Low crime rates, friendly people and a great sense of space is what makes this small Canadian Province a great place to live. It is no easy matter moving to Nova Scotia I can tell you! UK2Novascotia can help with the process - it took us 20 years to get here but Mike & Orla Wilson have been through the process a lot of times now and can really help with friendly advice, help & encouragement.

Car dealers.......???

Why oh why is it that Used car dealers have such a bad time of it?
They provide a great service letting people have the car they want at a far more reasonable price than a brand new model but where does it all go wrong?
My two-penneth reckons it has something to do with expectations and wanting something you can't get for the cash in your pocket or is available to you. You want a one year old car for $5,000 - well I'm sure you can but you have to reason why that car is valued so low. Buyer beware is a great motto - even the Romans knew that!
I'm straying off the point here - one of the reasons that used car dealers have a rough time - in Nova Scotia at least is they have to spend a large sum every month advertising, bleeding their profits and squeezing margins so any way to help that has to be a good thing...right?
One way is to make sure your website is found easily by Google for stuff like used cars Halifax or used cars Nova Scotia or even used car dealer Halifax or used car dealer Nova Scotia so people can find you without resorting to costly print ads that in the end just go towards us lighting our fire more cheaply!

.....Well more like movers & storage than Movers & Shakers actually....!
Burgess Transfer are another local company that are spending good money on the Yellow Pages and getting a worse and worse return on their money.
There was a time when that was the place to be but now the smart money is moving ...or rather has moved....onto Google.
One of the world's richest companies simply because 90% of websites don't work. The reason they don't work is because no one can find what they are looking for without resorting to paid ads. These paid ads go to swell Google's coffers and become a drain on a company's advertising budget. Why a drain? Well Google gives you the ability to optimise your website to make it found easily but web designers don't know a thing about this ability...
Burgess wanted a cost effective answer to get their phone ringing as what do people do before pretty much doing anything now - they Google it! Being found for Halifax Movers / Long distance movers is important to Burgess so they did something about it and hired me!

Insurance services

It is amazing to me that people in business have websites but they give no attention to how they are going to get their website found on Google for the products & services they offer so....
It is nice to find some people who realise this is an easy way to get themselves extra business for a fraction of the cost of a Yellow Pages ad.
One of these companies is a long established firm of insurance brokers WCL Bauld.
WCL Bauld wanted to have a cost effective way of getting new business and appreciated what Google could do for them. They wanted to be found for Insurance Halifax / Insurance Nova Scotia as a priority with also people looking to find them for Car Insurance Nova Scotia, Boat Insurance and Commercial Insurance all within Halifax & Nova Scotia.
We had some work creating new pages as the website wan't that flexible to allow changes to be made easily and now the process of adding links and making the site as a whole more responsive to what Google wants....
